Beaded Embroidery Neckpiece

This neckpiece is an unfinished project that I posted
last November. I have started working on it again and
have been working on it for about 3 days. The neckpiece
consists of a pair of fossil palms, drury quartz, black
breciated jasper, and black plain wood cabochons,
accented with black, brown, amber and cream seed
beads.

This is beautiful! Can't wait to see it finished! If you are interested in bead embroidery, have you heard about Robin Atkins new year long project? You can go to her blog at Bead Lust to read about it. It's a bead journal.
Cheers, Denise

This is beautiful. I made a beaded barrette where I used a stone and beaded around it. I am afraid that I wasn't sure what stitch to use to bead around it though. I used a gourd stitch to go around it and then just improvised by skipping a few beads here and there to make the beads on top fit snuggly over the turquoise. Could you tell me what beading stitch I should use? I did the barrette for the 2007 Bead Journal Project.
