North Bound

A north bound train near De Soto along the Mississippi
River. The first train came and I missed taking the
picture. Five minutes later the second train came and
I was lucky to take one picture with flash. The third
train came on the same track.

The Pearl Ice Cream Parlor

The building is a 1930's era soda fountain, confectionery
and coffee shop.

Downtown La Crosse

Fayze's

We ate lunch yesterday at Fayze's Restaurant
and Bakery. It is located in the heart of historic
downtown La Crosse. They have great food and
homemade breads.

Amish clothesline

It was very windy and cold yesterday. When the wind died
down I took this picture near Readstown. It is my favorite
because of the colors.

This is Shawn's apartment view. The lake is behind Shawn.

This is our apartment right at the corner 100 feet away from
Shawn's. Our apartment overlooked the pond.

Shawn's apartment

Shawn graduated last summer. He worked at Rocky Rococos
all summer thru christmas. He moved out last Tuesday and
will be starting college next Wednesday. Our dog, Jasmine
misses him. I was very busy this week helping Shawn packing.
I went shopping to furnish his apartment. It was alot of fun.
He came home today to get more stuff for his apartment. It
was good to see him! He invited us to see his apartment this
coming Saturday and it is Jasmine's birthday. She will be 4.
We just found today that his apartment in Middleton where
we used to live for nine months after we were first married.
Isn't that strange? It will be closer to his school around the
lake.

Madison gardens

Water Garden at Allen Centennial Garden

I was reading about the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Allen Centennial Gardens maintained by students and
volunteers, the gardens serves as an outdoor classroom,
offering research and training opportunities in plant
identification.

Gardens Across America

Water Garden at Allen Centennial Garden

I found a new book from the library " Gardens Across America"
Volume 1 East of the Mississippi. It is a guide to American Public
Gardens. The book features more than 1,000 gardens. Hours of
operation and directions, as well as listings of activities, educational
programs, and any unique botanical features are included.

Noodles & Company

Last week Dean & I went to the library and afterwards we went
to the Noodles & Company on State Street. Dean likes Tomato
Marinara noodle-tomato sauce over penne, sprinkled with
Parmesan and Italian parsley. My favorite is Thai Curry Soup-
curry coconut broth brimming with rice noodles, fresh spinach,
mushroom, tomato, napa cabbage and red onion.
